Directly from Cuba we have invited the outstanding Afro-Cuban group
Lucumi Oñi with its unique performance of the fascinating music and dance
cultures of this island, cultures brought by the slaves from Africa to
Cuba 500 years ago. The music traditions of Cuban folklore are
exceptional in their complexity, tonality and poly rhythms and flavoured
with fascinating expressions of dancing. Experience the alluring Yoruba
gods, the Devil dance of the Abacuá fraternity, wild Bantú and
flirtatious Rumba. Lucumi Oñi is Afro-Cuban folkoric music and dancing
at its most sublime. The members of the group have had long careers in
artistic establishments like Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba, Coro
Folklorico Nacional de Cuba and the Cabaret Tropicana. They are the
equivalent of the Buena Vista Social Club of Cuban folklore. Families
with children as well as connoiseurs of music will be inspired by this
treat. Before the performance there will be activities introducing
